East Wave Radio Teams up with Drug-Free Marshals to Tackle Drug Education

Drug Free Marshals of South Africa

I ran across this great article on the Drug Free Marshals of South Africa. It shows how much community groups can do when they team up to tackle the drug problem.

The Church of Scientology International Anti-Drug web site gives lots of really useful tips on how to combat drug abuse. People of all faiths are welcome to use this information.

There is more information about these anti-drug activities at the Scientology Press Office.

Helping with Scientology Assists

A friend of mine had a pretty bad accident the other day. I was able to help her recover from it fast by giving her Scientology assists. Scientology assists are described as follows on the Scientology Volunteer Ministers web site:

"Assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard. They operate on the principle that one tends to withdraw mentally or spiritually from an injured area. Only by restoring communication with this area can one bring the spiritual element into healing, thereby greatly speeding the healing process. Assists are used to alleviate stress, or to orient a confused or distraught individual to his present environment."

Before I became a Scientologist and learned these and other Scientology tools I used to feel a bit helpless when someone was in trouble. What I love about being a Volunteer Ministers is what I learned by studying the Scientology Handbook. It has enabled me to help people on countless occasions.

Scientology Volulnteer Ministers

All over the world, Scientology Volunteer Ministers help their neighbors, their community and people in need wherever they may be.

Right now, anyone who wants to join the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Disaster Relief Team in Java is invited to contact their nearest Scientology church.

Here is news on what the team is doing in Java.

he first team of Scientology Volunteer Ministers has begun providing trauma relief in Yogyakarta, Indonesia to survivors of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake that killed at least 6,234 people, injured an estimated 46,000 to 53,000 and damaged or destroyed more than 139,000 homes.

Hospitals have set up makeshift wards in parking structures and parking lots, where patients on a wild assortment of cots, beds, mattresses — many just lying on cardboard on the cement floors — await help from doctors and nursing staff who are struggling to cope with the nearly 19,000 who have been hospitalized for injuries sustained during the cataclysm.

To provide as much help as possible the Scientology Volunteer Ministers are training nursing staff and families of the injured in how to administer Scientology assists.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers Disaster Relief Teams will train anyone who wishes to join them and help in this effort. To learn more about how you can help, contact:
