Scientology Volunteer Ministers

A friend of mine who went to Louisiana as a Scientology Volunteer Minister after Hurricane Katrina told me some incredible stories of how the volunteers helped reunite familes. Losing one's home and all one's possessions would be bad enough, but to lose and be separated from your children and not know where they are -- that would be far worse.

I'm very proud of my friends who went to help. Many of them are still there.

Assists have produced miracles

Here is a real story. A young boy of 6 had a bad sunburn on his shoulders. His mother then applied one of the tools developed by L. Ron Hubbard which is called an assist for only a matter of minutes. The pain was completely gone and the child never mentioned it again.

Another real story was when a woman was in Europe on a business trip when a horrendous toothache began. Her associate on the trip was a Scientologist and delivered an assist for a matter of about an hour. Despite not yet having gotten to a dentist the pain was completely gone.

These are just a few examples where there are many many more.

Education is the Key to Success

The Study Technology that was developed by L. Ron Hubbard is now being implemented by the Volunteer Minister's in India to rave results. Most parents want their children to learn to read but it has always depended upon whether the teacher that one happened to get knew how to teach correctly or not.

With the basic technology developed many years one learns the importance of not going past words one doesn't understand while reading, the importance of not skipping gradients and many other things as well.

The children of India are now getting this technology and it is predicted that many great and intelligent minds will be emerging from that location in the not distant future.

Ups and Downs in Life

Here is a scenario that is all too typical in this day and age. This is that one starts a business or a relationship with high hopes and then things go really wrong and one wonders why. This makes one go down.

The truth is that knowing who in your business is working with you and who is working against you are very key factors but how can one know for sure and how can one really tell who is sincere and who is a snake in the grass.

There is technology and a short course developed by L. Ron Hubbard that is called the Ups and Downs in life course.

My friend had a business that was doing well and then inexplicably everything started to go wrong. At that point he learned about the Ups and Down in Life Course and he found the person in his business who was not going to ensure that things worked. He was fired and miracle of miracles all started to go really right.

Three Church of Scientology Volunteer Ministers heard a story about a man of 31 years old with a debilitating disease. He had three children all under the age 8. His wife was fulltime handling the children and he could no longer work. One of the children wanted to go to a summer camp for two weeks. The Volunteer Ministers helped organize a bake sale and got the kids to help. They made the best cookies. All were sold and the little girl made enough to cover her camp tuition.

At the same time everyone in the family learned the techniques of L. Ron Hubbards assists. They now successful deliver these to their father and each other and this is family who is now smiling again.

SCIENTOLOGY VOLUNTEER MINISTERS OF TAMPA BAY
HONORED BY GOVERNOR BUSH AS “HURRICANE HEROES”

Tampa Bay, Florida - In his Indian Shores office on Thursday March 24th, State Representative Everett Rice, Florida District 54, presented four of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Tampa Bay with a certificate from the Governor of Florida, which honors them with his Points of Light Award as “Hurricane Heroes.”

The certificate signed by Governor Jeb Bush, Lieutenant Governor, Toni Jennings, Points of Light Foundation representative, Robert K. Goodwin and Volunteer Florida representative Cynthia Asia, acknowledged that, “This certificate is presented to Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Tampa Bay Hurricane Heroes, in recognition of exemplary efforts that not only benefit your local community but also lend truth to the belief that all citizens of Florida can make a difference in the lives of those they serve.”

Florida State Representative Everett Rice said, “We were all very impressed with what the Scientology Volunteer Ministers did during the Hurricane season of 2004.”

Over 300 Volunteer Ministers from the Church of Scientology spent some 20,000 hours during the summer of 2004 in relief efforts following the wake of Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. They distributed over 500,000 gallons of water, 500,000 bags of ice, 400,000 food packages and thousands of supplies including clothes and baby items.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have been responding to disasters for more than 25 years. They are active in 50 U.S. states and in many countries around the world. They have been on the scene after scores of disasters, including the Oklahoma Bombings, the California fires, the Zimbabwe floods, the Taiwan Earthquake, the Moscow, Russia Hostage Crisis, the 911 tragedy and to this day they are still providing relief in Asia for the victims of the Tsunami Disaster. Scientology Disaster Response volunteers are professionally trained to respond to many aspects of emergencies. In addition to first aid services, The Volunteer Ministers provide expertise in organizing confused areas and delivering spiritual “assists”, which they describe as simple, but powerful techniques developed by Scientology founder
