L. Ron Hubbard's Philosophy

L. Ron Hubbard Site: My Philosophy

When I tried to study philosophy in school I found it so hidden and esoteric. Then I realized it was largely because the philosophers themselves were confused, and were using their writings to asking questions rather than give answers.

Then when I read L. Ron Hubbard it was almost shocking. What he was saying was so simple, so logical and so easy to understand it was a spiritual double-take for me--realizing I'd actually finally found someone who had something to tell me.

When I read the essay L. Ron Hubbard wrote, called "My Philosophy" it made sense--he was applying his own philosophy in what he communicated.

That's why so much work has been done to preserve and restore all his books and lectures, and why it is so much a part of Scientology to study the original works.

But, if you know how to study (and he even covers that) it's all available to you.

Now they're even available in 15 languages (and the nine beginning books are in 50!).

Actually, Scientology and Dianetics has never been easier to learn.

"The first principle of my own philosophy is that wisdom is meant for anyone who wishes to reach for it. It is the servant of the commoner and king alike and should never be regarded with awe."

"Happiness and strength endure only in the absence of hate. To hate alone is the road to disaster. To love is the road to strength. To love in spite of all is the secret of greatness. And may very well be the greatest secret in this universe." L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Scientology Religion.

Being a good example | Livingness

Being a good example | Livingness

Whether you realise it or not, you are looked upon as a role model both by children and by other adults.
You don’t think so?
Well, the office junior fresh from school looks up to you; the kids next door have a respect for you, even that colleague who just nods as you walk past thinks that you ‘know your stuff’.
It’s irrelevant whether you actually do ‘know your stuff’ or not. These people lookup to you because of who are (or appear to be), and because of your position at work, or your job in society.
Well, okay, so now what? Usually, you can always do something to improve a condition. For instance, what’s the one thing you can do today to improve the impression you give?
Often it’s the little things that make the difference. Smartly ironed clothes. Getting in on time. Not taking long lunches. Producitng great products without supervision. Not taking part in office gossip.
You can improve the impression that you give quite dramatically – just by working on a small thing until you’ve got it right – and then moving onto the next one.

Well, okay, so now what? Regardless of how many people look up to you, most of us could improve things to some degree. For instance, what’s the one thing you can do today to improve the impression you give?

There's a great series of public service announcements and a book-on-film of The Way to Happiness that goes into this concept in a lot more detail. Great watching.

The Way to Happiness Book on Film

Last summer David Miscavige announced the release of a book on film of the book The Way to Happiness.

It's online on the Way to Happiness website—really worth watching.

Communication -- the Magic Element

When I need a bit of magic in my life I look back over L. Ron Hubbard's tech on Communication. What's really interesting to me is how important communication is in human relations. Just by studying the chapter on Communication in the Scientology Handbook I figure about half the problems people are knocking themselves out over would resolve. (Of course it would ruin most soap operas and a lot of feature length movies whose plots revolve around communication breakdowns).

Couple of years back, David Miscavige announced that free courses on the chapters of this book would be available on the Scientology Volunteer Ministers website and they are. I often send people to that site to get help.
